2012 Reading Challenges

February 4, 2012

I only started blogging late last year, so I didn't have a chance to participate in any reading challenges. This year, however, I have decided to participate in a couple including:

+ Goodreads Reading Challenge: to read my goal of 50 books
+ Debut Author Challenge: to read 12 debut books of 2012
+ TBR Reading Challenge: to read my goal of 1-10 books that have been sitting on your TBR pile for a while

So the aim of the Debut Author Challenge is to read and review a minimum of 12 Young Adult or Middle Grade debut novels between January 1, 2012 - January 31, 2013.

I will most likely be reviewing each book that I read for this challenge, and below is a list of the books I have read for this challenge as well as those I plan to read.

1. Freshman Year & Other Unnatural Disasters by Meredith Zeitlin
2. Starters by Lissa Price
3. Cinder by Marissa Meyer
4. Lies Beneath by Anne Greenwood Brown
5. The Catastrophic History of You and Me by Jess Rothenberg
6. Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
7. Any Love But Mine by Debbie Davies
8. Fracture by Megan Miranda
9. Masks of the Lost Kings by Tom Bane
10. The Burning Star
11. Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood
12. Velveteen by Daniel Marks
13. Incarnate by Jodi Meadows
14. Throne of Glass by Sara J. Maas
15. What's Left of Me by Kat Zhang

For the 2012 TBR Pile Reading Challenge, I will be starting off with Level 1-10: A Firm Handshake. I may increase the level later on in the year if I reach this mark fairly early on.

These books must be released in 2011 or prior. So no ARC's or 2012 releases.

So I will be hopefully reviewing each of the books that I read for this challenge, and I will keep a list of the books I read in this post. I will then of course update it as I go.

Each month there will be a wrap up posted on one of the ten hosts blogs, with chances to win some prizes!

My TBR Pile:
1. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
2. Sold by Patricia McCormick
3. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
4. Cloudworld by David Cunningham
5. Dirty Magic by Carol Hughes (currently reading)

  1. Oooh - you're currently reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo! :D I thought it was an amazing book and the American movie adaptation was awesome (saw it last weekend).

The books on your debut challenge are looking good. ;) I've heard amazing things about all of them. BTW - it's Everneath not Everyneath. :P
