Top Ten Series I Haven't Finished

A Game of Thrones (Song of Ice and Fire, #1) / George R.R. Martin
1. The Song of Ice and Fire Series George R. R. Martin

I am a little intimidated by the size of these books, so I am holding off continuing for a little while. Don't get me wrong though, I loved the first books and really want to continue!

Shiver / Maggie Stiefvater
2. The Wolves of Mercy Falls Series by Maggie Stiefvater

I won't be continuing on with this series. I read Shiver, but unfortunately I did not enjoy it.

Naughts and Crosses / Malorie Blackman
3. Naughts and Crosses Series by Malorie Blackman

I absolutely adored Naughts and Crosses, however I liked how it ended as a stand-alone novel. I am a little hesitant to read the rest.

Hush Hush / Becca Fitzpatrick
4. Hush, Hush Series by Becca Fitzpatrick

I own the sequel, but have not read it as of yet. I am also a bit hesitant with this as well. I enjoyed Hush, Hush when I first read it but am unsure if I will continue to like to series.

Uglies / Scott Westerfeld
5. Uglies Series by Scott Westerfeld

This is simply because I have not yet gotten around to buying the next book in the series. My bookstore only sells copies with a different cover for the sequel (although they have the other books with the same cover design that I have).

Leviathan / Scott Westerfeld
6. Leviathan Series by Scott Westerfeld

Same sort of reason here, just haven't gotten around to buying the next book.

Across the Universe / Beth Revis
7. Across the Universe Series by Beth Revis

I don't know why, but I just haven't read A Million Suns! I absolutely loved Across the Universe, but for some reason I have take forever to firstly buy the sequel, and now read it!

Nightshade / Andrea Cremer
8. Nightshade Series by Andrea Cremer

The whole cover change completely put me off buying the sequel originally. Then I got the impression that the other books within this series aren't as good as Nightshade. I quite liked the first book, but I don't feel compelled to continue on with this series.

City of Bones / Cassandra Clare
9. Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare

So I own the first three books in this series, and have read City of Bones. I haven't continued on through because firstly, I didn't enjoy CoB as much as I thought I would. I liked it, but I think my expectations were a little too high. And secondly, I am contemplating starting the Infernal Devices series before continuing with the second book.

Wither / Lauren DeStefano
10. Chemical Garden Trilogy by Lauren DeStefano

I suppose I am just lazy with this one, like a few of the other series. I really enjoyed Wither but have yet to purchase the next book.

Top Ten Favorite Books You've Read During The Lifespan Of Your Blog

I am excluding books I have re-read.

blood red road

1. Cinder by Marissa Meyer

This book was phenomenal. I absolutely adored the story and the characters and the world! Certainly one of my favourite books of all time.

2. Insurgent by Veronica Roth

I thought this was a great sequel to Divergent and I thoroughly enjoyed it! So much action and drama, I couldn't put it down!

3. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Lola is an awesome, quirky character, and Cricket is just adorably cute. I loved the romance (even though I am incredibly jealous).

4. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

I loved Anna and St. Clair's story too, Stephanie Perkins is an amazing writer and sure knows how to create a brilliant romance story!

5. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

Super creepy, and I loved it! I loved the mystery and suspense in this book. Just chilling!

6. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Books that make me cry are obviously high on my list. I cry so much in movies, but for some reason it's more difficult to do so with books. This book sure did make me cry. And so much more! It was just so humorous, and it was a lovely experience to witness Hazel and Augustus' journey.

7. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

The writing style in Shatter Me drew me in straight away. I am a huge fan of unique writing styles, and on top of that, it was just beautiful and poetic. Furthermore there is plenty of action and an epic villain!

8. Across the Universe by Beth Revis

I went into this expecting a lot more romance than what I found, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise. There is so much more to this story, and in fact the romance was very minimal. I loved the world created, and the mystery kept me hooked. And MY GOD, those twists! Insane!

9. Blood Red Road by Moira Young

Another uniquely written story - although confusing at times, kept me interested! I had been interested in this book in a long time and was so pleased with what I found.

10. Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

To finish things off, I have another book with a creepy element. I loved this book so much! An awesome set of characters alongside a gripping story.

I'd love to know what your favourites were!

Top Ten Characters I’d Like To Switch Places With For 24 Hours
These are in no particular order

1. - ANYONE FROM The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
I just want to be in the world where the Night Circus exists. I want to be able to either visit it and experience its wonders, or be a part of it and be some incredibly talented circus-kid!

2. - Cinder FROM Cinder by Marissa Meyer
I am curious to see what it would be like to be a cyborg! And come on. Prince Kai, yes PLEASE.

3. - Anna FROM Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
The boy. Etienne St. Clair. How could I resist?

4. - Lola FROM Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
Same goes for Cricket. COME ON!

5. - Wendy FROM Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie
Peter Pan is one of my favourite stories. I would be the happiest person ever if I could travel to Neverland! (If Peter looked like Jeremy Sumpter, then that's a bonus)

6. - Alanna FROM The Song of the Lioness Series by Tamora Pierce
I think it would be so awesome to learn how to become a knight! Although, I would be incredibly terrible and manage to get myself killed whilst practising with blunt, wooden swords, no doubt.

7. - Hermione FROM The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
What's better than a witch, seriously. Plus, she is a pretty badass nerd.

8. - Amy FROM Across the Universe by Beth Revis
I would love to experience living on a space ship! I am sure I would eventually learn to hate being caged in like that, but I would love to give it a try.

9. - Rose FROM The Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead
Rose is awesome. And Dimitri is super sexy (wouldn't mind lovin' him).

10. - Death FROM The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak
I am fascinated by Death's narration, and would love being Death for a day. It would be interesting to be Death, and although seeing the things he/it would have seen would be pretty depressing, I am very curious.

Who would you be?

Top Ten Most Vivid Worlds/Settings In Books

A Game of Thrones (Song of Ice and Fire, #1) / George R.R. Martin
1. - The Seven Kingdoms -
A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin

The entire kingdom is just so detailed and incredibly well built. The TV series has definitely helped shape my vision of this world.

Cinder / Marissa Meyer
2. - New Beijing -
Cinder by Marissa Meyer

I absolutely loved the setting in Cinder. The palace and the marketplace, all of it was just beautiful.

Harry Potter / J.K. Rowling
3. - Hogwarts -
The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling

Need I really explain myself here? This entire universe is so magical and fantastical and just amazing.

The Night Circus
4. - Le Cirque des Rêves -
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

The Night Circus is such an amazing place! I wish I could go. Each tent is described in such a way that it brings the entire circus to life. I felt as if I were right there in the circus.

Uglies / Scott Westerfeld
5. - Uglyville / The Smoke -
Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

It was interesting to discover all of the sectors in this town as well as explore the wilderness!

Incarceron / Catherine Fisher
6. - Incarceron -
Incarceron by Catherin Fisher

I don't remember too much about this book as I read it a long time ago, but I can clearly picture the world of Incarceron. My mental visions of this universe have stayed with me very strongly.

The Hunger Games / Suzanne Collins
7. - Panem -
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Both the Districts, the Capitol and the Arena are just magnificent. The movie has provided a new insight into how this world could appear, but my own imagination of this world sticks in my mind.

Divergent / Veronica Roth
8. - Chicago -
Divergent by Veronica Roth

In Divergent, it is the faction headquarters that Tris trains in that is particularly vivid.

Across the Universe / Beth Revis
9. - Godspeed -
Across the Universe by Beth Revis

The world building on this ship was wonderfully done. Each level explored was pictured clearly in my mind as I read this.

The Host / Stephenie Meyer
10. - The cave (Arizona) -
The Host by Stephenie Meyer

The cave setting in the host was so intricate and developed. I loved it!

Let me know what your favourite worlds/settings are.

Top Ten Favorite Covers

Gravity (The Taking, #1)
1. Gravity by Melissa West

This cover is so incredibly stunning. I adore the font and decoration around the text of "Gravity".

Shine
2. Shine by Lauren Myracle

The colours are just gorgeous, in the sky and the flower. So beautiful.

As I Wake
3. As I Wake by Elizabeth Scott

The smoking effect with the hair and the fire-y colours looks amazing.

What's Left of Me (Hybrid, #1)
4. What's Left of Me by Kat Zhang

Amazing cover.  It's simple but seems to compliment the synopsis so well. Love it!

Eve (Eve, #1)
5. Eve by Anna Carey

I love gorgeous fonts, and this one on Eve is so beautiful. I really like the gradient of colours in the sky, and it makes me really curious! What is she running from?

Incarnate (Newsoul, #1)
6. Incarnate by Jodi Meadows

Such a beautiful cover. I love the butterfly.

The Night Circus
7. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

I adore the UK and the US covers to this book - the UK more so because of the black edges of the pages and the actual hardback cover. But I like the US dust jacket design a little more. The colours are simplistic and there isn't too much detail but it looks amazing!

Insurgent (Divergent, #2)
8. Insurgent by Veronica Roth
The cover for Divergent was awesome, and so is this - to be honest I think a little more. The covers reflect the world of Divergent, and in this case it is the symbol for Abnegation. And it looks incredible. I love the tree and the leaves.

Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1)
9. Across the Universe by Beth Revis
This cover leaves me breathless. I love galaxy images, they always looks so mystical and just gorgeous. The pinks, blues and purples on this cover make it even more beautiful.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #1)
10. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
The hardback cover for this book looks incredible, especially in person. The shine of the text alongside the dark colours and the bodies - just wow.

Let me know what your favourite covers are. I love to look are pretty things.
